Dr. Anderson grew up in Apple Valley and graduated from Eastview High School. She went on to The University of Kansas graduating with a degree in Human Biology, prior to attending The Ohio State University where she graduated magna cum laude with a doctor of optometry degree. She was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and earned an award for excellence in ocular disease.
Prior to joining Apple Valley Eye Care Dr. Anderson practiced in the northeast metro for 7 years where she gained valuable experience in comprehensive eye care, ocular disease, and surgical co-management. During this time she served as an adjunct clinic faculty member for Illinois College of Optometry, which allowed her to provide clinic instruction for the residency program. She was also a clinical attending for fourth-year optometry students on rotation. She is thrilled to be back in the south metro providing comprehensive care to her local community.
Dr. Anderson is an active member of the Minnesota Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, the American Academy of Optometry, MN VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Service for Humanity), and is a board member of MN VOSH. She has been on 2 trips through VOSH to provide eye care in underserved areas in Peru and the Philippines.
Dr. Anderson lives in Eagan. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband, son and daughter, and golden retriever. They enjoy trips to the cabin, hiking, playing at the park, and live music.
